Summer Camps

Wellesley Theatre Project offers a variety of Summer Camps for all ages! Camps are divided by the age/grade your child is entering in the Fall and include one-week specialty offerings and multi-week production camps. 

Space is limited and registration is based upon the order in which applications are received.  Students should enroll in summer camp based on what grade they are entering in the fall. Applications are not complete without payment in full or a deposit.  Contact us about sibling or multiple camp discounts, and need-based scholarships.

ONE-WEEK CAMPS

From preschool through high school, we offer a wide range of summer camps for both beginners and experienced stage performers - including camps in acting/drama, musical theatre, dance and voice and technical theatre. Students who should enroll in camps based on the grade they are entering in the fall.

Discover Disney!

2ND THROUGH 4TH GRADE

Explore Disney and all of its magic with musicals like Encanto, Frozen, Aladdin, and more! Students will learn songs and dances, read scenes from the musical, and do a different craft every day. Students should bring a snack, water bottle, and a lunch!

Dance Bootcamp

Friends for good

Are you a Glinda or an Elphaba? Students will work with a Music Director to learn music from the show as well as a Choreographer to learn the dance steps! Students will engage in activities that explore themes from the musical such as overcoming adveristy, the power of friendship, bravery, and acceptance. This camp is perfect for any student who loves Wicked! Students should pack a snack, a water bottle, and a lunch!

Production Camps

Students will explore their creativity and expand their acting, singing, and dancing skills. From audition preparation to Opening Night, all students will learn what it takes to produce a stage show. Each camp will conclude with three performances of a fully realized production on a stage professionally produced and open for the public. Space is limited, and registration is based on the order in which applications are received. Please contact us with any questions.

A typical day will involve production rehearsals, including group and individual coaching sessions with the director, musical director and choreographer.   

Tuition includes:  Camp T-shirt and Official Script. 

At least a 50% deposit must be made after enrolling, via credit card or email in order to secure your spot. Full tuition must be paid by April 1st 2025. Need-based scholarships are available.  

  
Willy Wonka KIDS & James and the Giant Peach Jr. will have two casts. Casts and Performance times will be announced on the second day of camp.

Join us for the delicious adventures experienced by Charlie on his visit to Willy Wonka's mysterious chocolate factory in this captivating adaptation of Roald Dahl's fantastical tale. Follow the enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whomever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats, but the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka's rules in the factory – or suffer the consequences.

James and the Giant Peach JR.

Join us for this "masterpeach" of a tale based on Roald Dahl’s famous novel. James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean and launches a journey of enormous proportions. James befriends a collection of singing insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean, facing hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements along the way.

Spring Awakening

9TH TO 12TH GRADE

Join us for this winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, told by Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater through what Entertainment Weekly called, "the most gorgeous Broadway score this decade," Spring Awakening explores the journey from adolescence to adulthood with a poignancy and passion that is illuminating and unforgettable. Join this group of late nineteenth century German students on their passage as the navigate teenage self-discovery and coming of age anxiety in a powerful celebration of youth and rebellion.

Note: This production is rated PG-13 for mature content and language.

The ghost-with-the-most comes to the stage in Beetlejuice JR., the frightfully funny musical based on the beloved motion picture turned Broadway phenomenon. Lydia Deetz is a strange and unusual teenager, still grieving the loss of her mother and obsessed with the whole “being dead thing.” Lucky for Lydia, she and her father move to a new house haunted by a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a delightful demon with a real zest for life. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing specter shows his true stripes, unleashing a (Nether) world of pandemonium.

Students will get hands-on experience with the technical elements of theatre. Students will work on a variety of different projects and serve as the tech crew for Beetlejuice JR

WTP is now accepting applications for interns for our 2024/25 Season. Interns will have the chance to apply for a job with a specific role. They will work closely with WTP’s professional teaching artists to gain “on the job” skills. Our internship roles include:
